she's probably scared of people still. i had a parakeet that did this at first, everytime we let him out he got so scared and disoriented that he would fly into everything just trying t get away.
I would wait a few weeks to let her out again. are her wings clipped? i would recomend doing this fro her safety at least untill she settles down.
she probably isn't blind. remember, your bird came from a pet shop where all she knew was a cage. now you bring her into a completely new environment with more space and soemhting she has never encountered before- a wall! she is only a few months old and birds aren't terribly bright to begin with so you have to give her time to figure out what everything is and realize that a wall is something solid that you cannot fly through.
if this continues for a long time, however, blindeness could be a factor. she should be taken to the vet anyways though for a check up and you can ask the vet any questions you might have.

If she were only flying into windows that would be one thing...I'd agree that she would just need her wings clipped. But no bird, even a baby one, should be flying into a solid object that they should clearly be able to see. Yes, get the bird to the vet asap and preferrably an avian-certified vet. Good luck!

Depending on how young she is, she probably hasn't learned to control her flight yet.
If you are really concerned, take her to an Avian vet and have her checked out. She might have a problem with her eyesight, however, it is not uncommon for a bird to "crash" into a window. When you have her out of her cage, the windows need to be covered so that she doesn't fly into them. She can literally kill herself if flies into the hard enough.

If you got it at a Pet Store or Breeder - take it back and ask to have the Wings clipped - The Wings will grow back- but by then it should have more control and it will be more use to you. But in the mean time it will keep it from flying as far to be able to reach walls and such. Even with this - Never have it out unless your with it-because it also can end up in a place that isn t safe for it. It will take awhile for it to achieve accuracy.

If it is not willing to go on your hand or finger willing then do not force it - just talk to it and feed it by hand in the cage to help the process come along in steps. If it is willing to come out perched on your hand or finger do this and keep it at face level and do the same thing. If it flies off after accomplishing this go retreive it by getting on its level and talk to it a bit to get it to calm down- get it to go on the palm or fingers and slowly raise it while talking calmly. If it goes again and do the same thing but put it back into the cage. If you let it out to go off on its own it will learn to do that when let out instead of socialing with you. Once it has bonded to you - then it can do both when it is more stable flying and being able to land where it wants to go. It certainly sounds like it is freaking out the way you describe it and it has lost all control. And it will take alot longer to feel unscared with you the next time you try.

I got one as a baby and it takes awhile for them to control where they want to go. They are still growing including their wings. One still didn t have full flight Wings close to the age of 4 months.

If it was just from a friend who doesn t know how to trim then you ll have to just try a Pet Store that has budgies and they may charge a small fee (for someone who knows what they are doing it takes less then a minute to do) and if not then you ll have to go to a Vet but that will be alot more expensive. I doubt if it is blind and even if it is - the Vet Probably isn t going to be able to do much about it .

Someone else recently had the same question as yours (unless you asked this guestion before) - check the answers from that one also - to have access to more answers.

I m sure everything is fine

Good Luck!

Clip her wings immediately. Do not let her fly! She is panicking and the next time she runs into a wall she could break her neck.
Do not let her do this. You haven't trained her to fly in your home. Free Flight is a tricky business and you have to start with teaching her basic cues before you begin simply letting her fly everywhere. She doesn't know what she is doing because she hasn't been taught.
Please get her wings clipped and begin with basic step up cues before you start in with free flight or you might end up with a tragedy.

Well, your bird might be blind or you should clip its wings. You should go to the vet and make sure that your bird is all right. I hope that your bird gets better and take it to the vet.

Handle her in the cage only. Because if you clip her wings to young you could easily cut into a blood feather. Her flight-feathers must be mature enough to trim, so no accidents will happen. Give it a good month before you trim her feathers then let her out and let her ride on your shoulder so she can see and learn what the room is all about.

My budgie did an identical undertaking as quickly as I first have been given her. I hated to do it, yet I clipped her wings so as that she did not get to lots top. The greater I enable her out of her cage the greater she have been given used to the partitions. i think she crashed into the partitions because of the fact she had no intensity thought. She could not tell that the white partitions have been partitions and not a open gray sky. only enable the poultry out supervised slightly at a time and he or she will have the means to get used to it. don't be too scared to take her out, she desires to get out and stretch her wings. stable luck and don't hardship!
