My brother joined the Marines in December and had 3 months of traing. We could only write letters. Then they had a family week thing were you go down and visit the new marines for 3 days. Then you and you family go home. My brother was home for 10 days before he had to leave. Also, you do have short breaks when you get out of bootcamp, and have job traing. Good luck and God Bless

Not sure what "aef stg" is. There is no guarantee, that you will have time to go on leave between basic training and your Advanced Training School. There are certain MOSs in the US Army that combine the 2 into 1, which means no breaks but when your done, you will probably be given leave until your reporting day at your first permanment duty station.

Close to the end of Basic Training, you will be given orders as to when and where you need to report for Advanced Training. You will be granted leave for that time period between the two.

Unfortunately, there is no way to predict how much time or any you will get, since its dependent on when the next training cycle starts for your advance training.

depends on what branch of service you go into and also what school you'll go to next. After i finished boot camp for the US Marine Corps, they give you the ability to take 10 days off to visit the family. You don't have to take the 10 days or any time at all. You can go straight to school. If you went home, you could request to do recruiters assistance and be home for upto 21 days depending on the school you go to. i know for the army, usually you go from graduation to school right away and your time off is given after you get to school. This is assuming you won't be "picking up" class shortly thereafter. I think it all depends on how much time you have been away from home. I know i went to boot for 13 weeks and with all the stress, the corps recommended some time off but was not necessary. They also give you the time off so you can go home and show how motivated you are to be in the corps and want to encourage your friends to go in too. kinda like a game i guess. Your best bet, talk to your recruiter and ask him/her about your time after boot. Ask them if you will have any time off or if you straight to school.

I went through Army boot camp. After it, and before AIT, I had a 3 day leave. I went through AIT at the same post as basic training. Other guys whose AIT was at other posts, had orders that they were to report by a certain time and date. That specific date gave travel time and some leave time. I guess you'll have to wait and see how much time YOU get.

I don't know, but I will tell you what my older brother told me when he was in the service and I was thinking of going in after I graduated from High School. To quote his Army Drill Instructor the first day when he had just gotten off the bus, "Whatever your recruiter told you was probably a lie."

If you are going Marine Corps, yes you get 10 days of leave. You can try for RA (recruiters assistance) and get maybe another 14.
