Sit yourself down and pull out paper and pencil. On one side write all the pros to going to school and the other the cons. I know it sounds corny but its effective. If you decide that school is for you, take a trip to your local library and look through their career section. They have books that lists occupations, the current salery, future outlook of job and the amount of education you need to suceed. You would be surprised at things you find they intrest you. Make a list of those. Once you do that, start looking through the large catologs that they have that lists the major universities and colleges. Go through the index and find the names of schools that have your intrests as major programs.
Once you go through that, check out the websites for those schools and request literature about the programs or set up a guided tour for yourself. Once you do that make another list of schools that intrest you and start applying.
but remember, most incoming freshmen have no idea what they want to do, so you're not alone.

Good Luck

Find a job that you think you would like doing and volunteer there, if a school or public service job, or get a low level entry postion and work there part time if a private industry. Also, find someone who does what you would like to do or is where you want to be in life and spend some serious time talking about the good and the bad of the position.

Think about what hobbies you have, what you do as a pastime ... The shows you watch, the things you think about throughout the day. What intrigues you? Bedazzles you? I learned that my future career as a marine biologist is right for me. I love to read about the deep ocean, i love biology classes, i like to draw whales in my freetime, and i like to watch documentaries on wildlife, especially marine life.

Contact your local community college and ask to speak to a career counselor. They can even give you tests to see what you would be good at and happy doing. Good luck!
