No: just logic (for skepticism, that is)

Religion is the natural outgrowth of fear. Self righteous condemnation goes with every belief system.

Skepticism is withholding belief in something until sufficient evidence is present. It's also holding provisional belief in things based on available evidence.

Ridicule is a response to outlandish, unprovable, or illogical claims.

These things are not masks for fear.

Self-righteous condemnation is usually a response to one's own feelings of anger or, yes, fear. I see more religious types doing this than the non-religious.

I'm pretty skeptical about most claims but I have not been accused of being self-righteous or fearful for a long time now.

"fear" is a real broad term. all 3 u mentioned do have a cause, not essentially fear.....sometimes its knowledge-on-display or satisfying one's complex or plain fun of it! Never generalize.
