This best describes me: shy and modest. I've asked about what does it mean if a guy says "he just wants to be friends", last month. I've been wondering if I've done it wrong in the past, and won't make the same mistakes again.

What if you don't know his phone number? That can be a problem.

Just call him and ask him if he would like to go have a cup of coffee with you, the rest should play out with conversation on the phone and in person if he accepts. ( The worst thing that can happen is he declines the offer.. no big deal move on to another you haven't died from the experience) Just remember to be yourself and to be up front with your expectations if you do see him, you will only get what you want if you let them know what it is your looking for.
As far as your shyness...once again take a deep breath and talk about everything you feel and want, be sure to ask his feelings on the same subjects as well. LOL
