Finally,after 3 years being divorced,i have met the most wonderful man,we have been dating now for almost 7 months.I truly believe i have found my soulmate.But last night my parents came to dinner,and treated him like crap.The problem is he is a different race,which to me is not a problem.I love him.But what hurt the most is when my father brought up my ex husband and how they had spent time together just last week.I saw the look on my boyfriends face and i know it hurt him.Mainly because he knows that my parents dont except us.How do i get my parents to except us and for them to see that im happy and very much in love for the first time.

You shouldnt worry about ur parents accepting him. You need to have that established. Not them! Dont ever try to please people, u never win. People will always judge you. Even if he was ur race, they would probably find something else.

Your parents just want to see you happy. They may not know at this time that it is this man that will make you happy. You are gonna have to give them time to adjust, see your happiness, and get to know him for who he is and not the color of his skin. In due time, your parents will probably come around, If they see that he is making you happy.

Tell your parents they better get use to it because your not planning on missing out on someone you really care about because of there ignorance.
