I know many animals do feel pain, A friend of mine claims shrimp are an exception for some reason.........why do they or do they do not. My friend claims that they dont have the same nerve ending as us or a spine so they dont feel pain, is he right?

According to a study by the Canadian government, evidence suggests that shrimp (and other invertebrates), do not feel pain. Please see the link on the source below.

My brother, who is a vegetarian, doesn't care whether they feel pain or not. The fact that they are a living being is enough for him to not eat them. I, on the other hand, am not a vegetarian and love to eat shrimp.

If you want to eat or not eat an animal based on the evidence of whether they feel pain or not, then shrimp seem to be safe.

I would imagine that the nervous system of a shrimp would certainly be different from that of a human. Not having an endoskeleton, which would include a spine, doesn't justify your friend's statement. I see no reason why shrimp would not feel pain.

Shrimps don't feel pain because they don't have a nerve system like regular mammals. So go right ahead and eat them because they are specially good. Good luck.

Yes, they have nerve endings and a survival instinct that warns them of pain and ultimately death.

feel pain as in inside pain or pain like when you get hit
