I think it is healthy as long as it's in moderation. Personally, I see it as a form of entertainment. I play $5 poker sit&go's and tournaments online, and they can last me either quite a while (as in over an hour) or I end up making a bit of money in a short period of time (and I'll use that money for...gas for my car or something like that to help me save my working-made money). It's win-win. Movie theatres now charge ten bucks for an hour and a half of an escape from reality. Poker is my escape.
But if you're referring to chances of pure luck games like roulette and craps, I don't do any of that sort of thing, because my $5 is also an investment into making more and I have no control over those kinds of games. With poker and even blackjack, you have a tiny bit more control...and it's much more fun.

Depends on the form of gambling. For most, no.
Low stakes Texas Hold 'Em with friends can be a good way to socialize. Buying a lottery ticket can be a little fun, so can playing a few games of bingo. But when you talk about anything more than that gambling really becomes a tax on the poor.
Anyone who understands math and odds knows that casino gambling is a losing proposition.

I gamble and bet money but I think of it as I am going to lose it. I am not a big gambler but I do it about 1 or 2 a month and pent no more the $20.00. I know I will not get rich off of it I just do it for something different .

Some people get addicted to gambling and it becomes a curse. For most people I would say it would be a healthy activity. I like to gamble and I bet. And I lose like everyone else. Gamblers do not win.

I love to gamble! Almost everyone likes to gamble to a degree, whether they admit it or not. Whether it is buying a stock that you think is one the rise, speculating on real estate, playing a casino or poker game, starting a new business, betting in the local office pool, taking a shot at the state lottery, or going to the track. Most people have been known to even place a friendly wager on some real-life event.

It is a problem for some people, they gamble everything they have. It's an addiction that has to be dealt with, for most people it is nothing more than a good way to lose some money. Your chances of winning it big are so tiny, remember the lottery people are in it to make money and they do.

It's fun and exciting but like most things that we like in life it can be bad for us.You have to know your limit,if you lose go home and try again another day. Some people just don't know when to stop. The key word here is control.Do I gamble, yes, and a few times I've got mad at myself. You walk into a casino and hit it big and you just know you must be on a winning streak right. No,run do not walk to the nearest exit.Take that money home don't end up giving it back.

yes, yes, yes to all the above- healthy that is controversial i would say/ fun to play-you get that great high(all that chem. crap) that puts your body in an awesome state/ but then like a drug you come down if you lose to much-could cause depression /drugs alcohol/ smoke/academics/ job loss etc-you get the jist..if you take it to far/ been on both sides of the coin(so to speak) @ a very young age/ but if i had to go with a direct answer-it's healthy when (under control) -God willing i will be gambling till 90 -w/ a martini and menthol cig-and i do hate smokers-but it goes w/ the high LOL

Gambling, just like drinking, is pleasurable for some and deadly for others. Some people do it recreationaly with no ill effects, and about ten per cent develop problems.
