my sister in law's spelling is not very good and she would like to go to an evening class to learn how to improve her spelling and grammer, does anyone know where she could maybe do an evening course? she lives in east london

I suggest that your sister in law goes to her local college and explain that that she would like to a basic english course, as her spelling is not very good. Here she will get all the help she wants, if she is a bit worried about going why not go with her to give her some moral support. The best course she will need is the course entitled KEY SKILLS and it is free. Go along and enquire, and I wish you both good luck.

Check out the evening classes, or Learn Direct. Also, she could join the library and read books.

there will be adult education classes your local education authority should be able to advise you. There are adverts on TV with a gremlin theme which give a number. At the moment they are about maths but they also do English with includes spelling

Yeah library would be a good place to start, they should have leaflets, I know there's a brochure for adult evening classes in waltham forest, but can't remember the name of it.

She needs to approach the Local Authority - they will be able to point her in the right direction

check out your local east london library.. they'll surely help you find some class to go to

she can take a course in engish & grammer, tell her to go to a community college & apply for classes.

Your local college should run adult ed classes for literacy. This could be helpful.

the only answer i can give you is what my mum gave me, always carry an up to date pocket dictionary with you ,look up every word your not sure of, sooner or later it will stick. i still have my moments, but i did manage to pass my O level English.
