....and they had children, who also had children etc etc.
Then surely we are all related and part of the same family.Which also means that we are all incestuous.Isn't incest a sin?

incest is a sin. But i wouldn't you really shouldn't put too much credit in the bible(it's just a book). It is impossible for 6 billion people to be from just two people just 4 thousand years ago, that is how old the planet is if you believe the bible. There is so much that can be picked apart in there. Take Noah's ark for instance how could Noah possible get 2 of every animal on earth(where would he find the jersey crapuad toad all the way out there)

That is not true. Incest means having sex with relatives who are too close to marry. God intended for this earth to be filled with righteous humans who were all related. Being perfect, there was no chance of married couples passing on birth defects to later generations. But since man's fall into sin, that changed everything. Because Adam became imperfect by sinning, he could only pass that on to his offspring. Still, God allowed sex relations between close relatives until the practice was abolished when he gave the Law to Moses. After that, anyone who had sex with a close relative became guilty of incest, meriting the death sentence.

You are right. We are all related.

This is born out by genetics. Study of mitochondrial DNA reveals that we have a common female ancestor nick named 'mitochodrial eve', and also a common male ancestor, who is not so old.
This is what one would expect from reading the Bible. We are all descended from Adam and Eve, but we all have a more recent male ancestor in Noah.
Adam and Eve had perfect genes so there was no risk of genetic defects in their children. The reason close relatives should not marry now is that they are likely to have the same genetic defects and have children with severe problems. If you marry someone with different defects then with luck they the defects from one partner are masked by the other.
God's instruction not to marry close realtives was given to the Israelites thousands of years after Adam and Eve.

The Bible contains the true history of the world. Beware of people who ridicule it - they probably haven't read it and are only likely to embarass themselves!

Incidentally there is ample time to have got 6 billion people from the 8 people on the ark 4500 years ago - it just requires a growth rate of 0.5%. Scoffers should check their math!

Distraught, Adam and Eve became to a minimum of one yet another, had hetero intercourse, and because cigarettes hadn't been invented yet, desperate to proportion in basic terms a sprint fruit for the time of after glow. something is his tale.

Im pretty sure the bible doesnt approve of incest. But remember, within genesis, the whole myth doesnt sync up, its flawed. Plus, the human race cannot have come from so few people. Not enough genetic material.......

Does anyone really believe the Adam & Eve part of the Bible? In my opinion the bible is one of the greatest novels ever written but it is just a novel not a true document.

THe religious people are going to tell you it is not a sin because:

A) the blood line was pure
B) incest wasn't mentioned until later in the Bible

They can think of ANYTHING to avoid the flaws in their Bible and the Bible can be manipulated to mean anything the church wants it to say.

But wouldn't that make most of us like 100th cousins 500 times removed? I wouldn't worry about it.
