When Jesus came, people had the same concern, is this carpenter really the Mesias we have been expecting? He did not fulfill the prophesies according to the interpretation of the Jews but He was the Mesias. What made the followers of Jesus believe in Him. It was not the erudites who recognized Him, it was the pure hearted people, the ones that had been able to detatch themselves from what they had been told and look through their hearts. I think God wants to see who is sincere and who is not and that is why he does not give us a clear cut description of the anti Christ or the Christ for that matter.
So pray a lot, be sincere, question everything, even the catholic web site someone is recomending. Question everything, rely only on Him and in your heart and I am sure God will answer the prayer and the wish or a sincere believer. He does not disapoint us but we have to make efforts. The truth is out there but YOU have to find it yourself with your capacities and your heart.

There are 4 verses that discus the antichrist, they are 1John 2:18,22; 4:3; 2John 1:7. Some people confuse the dragon with the antichrist, Rev 12,13,16,20. The dragon is the church of rome. I am not dising them just stating a plain fact.

The only true doctrine is that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. And whoever confesses with his mouth that Christ is Lord and God raised Him up from the dead, will reap eternal life.

The Christians need the "test" to be vaguethat way they can pick and choose how and when to "interpret" this test. Then they can apply it to the person that best fits the interpretation at that time
If it was specific then it would be too hard to fit one person into the catagory.

There are many antichrists but only one Antichrist. If your soul is in the state of Grace you will know him. If not, you will be fooled.

It's not doctrine that is the test of faith but actions.
Love your neighbor.
GW Bush by promoting torture shows he is no true Christian.
