Thanks for your answer to my last question: human vegetables have souls.

Before, you said that my pig, who is named Gordon, does not have a soul.

Gordon can open doors, scratch 1000 words and phrases with his trotters, and lives in a trailer at our place. We raised him as an orphan and taught him the sign language, so that we can talk with him about things - what he likes to eat, if he wants to go for a walk, eat nuts, mate another pig, roll around in filth and whatnot.

Gordon looks like a pig but has cognitive facilities and can communicate. But a human vegetable who looks like a person is really just a slab of living meat with blood gurgling around inside it but no intelligence at all. You would not have much fun hanging around with a human vegetable, but Gordon is learning how to bowl.

I cant understand why Gordon loses out here - the pig with personaliity is being treated as soulless, and the human vegetable meat slab gets the soul - why is this?

All living things were endowed by their creator with intelligence and a mission in mortality. They all have spirits, ie. a soul. Animals will be resurrected just like we will be. They will testify for us or against us at the final judgment. We, as the most intelligent of God's creations were given the authority to preside over the earth with wisdom and justice. We are stewards over the animals and the plants and all things herein. God has stated that all things fill the measure of their creation and will receive their respective rewards in the eternities. Your pig will live on, as will the incapacitated human. The infirmities we suffer in mortality will be removed in the resurrection and all will be made whole, the imperfect being made perfect. Animals are no different.

I was born okay the first time and want to meet gordon--pigs are incredibly intelligent and sensitive creatures, and I want you to ignore those mean people who say they don't have souls--they're just jealous that you have a really awesome pet and they don't and they are trying to make you feel bad. If god made angels in animal form (the seraphim) shouldn't we take that as a sign that animals are people in animal form?

Well, I think Gordon does have a soul, though I'd be a bit concerned about you.

this is a belief, like the beliefs that all things were created from nothing, and that Anna Nicole Smith is pregnant with a puppy dog. but what I' saying is it depends who you ask about this. For me, I believe that everything that is alive, or was alive has a soul.

Maybe... if Gordon ate the human vegetable - he might acquire it's soul.

Bowling is a great first step.

I don't know exactly what you are talking about, but I am not exactly sure if animals will be in heaven. I'm hoping they will since I have a few beloved ones. God gave them to us to enjoy here and to love. I'm sure He'll work it out. Don't worry.
