Me and my boyfriend have been dating only 6 months, but in that time we've gotten really close. He says that he wants to try to make it work when i leave for school in a month, but I'm scared it won't! We'll only be just over two hours apart, but we'll both be really busy. Does anyone have any advice on how we can help make this long-distance relationship work??

Unfortunately it is very hard. It sucks not being able to see, touch, and hear one another when you need them. My girlfriend and I are going through the same thing. I told her last Saturday that maybe we should just cool it for awhile. I love that woman to death, but it is very hard and very stressful. I miss her very much. I do not know what to tell you, but just try it and see. If it does not work, it just doesn't work.

My boyfriend goes to college 2 hours away. He's been in college for 3 years now.. it's hard, but it takes a LOT of trust. I mean.. a lot. We have a little pact that he called me every night at about 9:15 pm on his cell so that it's a free call, and we send e-mails throughout the day discussing our daily activities and how things are going, and I visit him every other other weekend, and he comes home quite often as well. Try working out a schedule like my boyfriend and I have with the calling thing.. (ps. an alarm on the cell phone helps remind to call!) If you two really want to stay together, things will work out! Don't worry so much, long distance relationships aren't as bad as people make them out to be.. Goodluck!

Two hours isn't a long drive at all! Call eachother during the week, even if it's just to leave a voice mail, text message, etc. Then on the weekends or at least a couple weekends a month alternate driving to see eachother. Two hours is very do-able if you both really wanna see eachother!

OK so my bf and I are dating 7 hours apart, seperated by college.. we've been together 6 months as well. It's hard, im not going to lie. being two hours vs. seven is easier cuz you can meet for theweekends and such. but My bf and I Instant Message ALL THE TIME...lol infact we are right now.. we also write letters and send them back and forth just cuz its more personal. we get together as much as possible but its really hard between my sched and his...Im not going to lie...Its really hard. but if what u have is real, you can make it work
just talk to eachother alot!!

You would be better off ending it for now, get back togather after you get out of school. You know he will get dunk or you will and miss each other, you and he will want a pice and he or you will go looking for sum. Sooner or later and you mite fine someone yourself why your in school. But if you want it to last then you need to call every day and talk, e-mail every day to or get a web cam talk to each other face to face on the web. good luck

Hate to say it, but it hardly ever works, and do you know why?

It is almost ALWAYS the person that goes away to school that finds he/she would rather date a person where they are, especially after they meet so many new people.

Sure, you might say that this won't happen, and there's a chance it won't, but you don't know until you're in that situation.

You might surprise yourself.

You can call each other, send emails, and make time for each other. If you're meant to be, the distance and time apart shouldn't change anything. Good Luck!
