Is this homework help? Obviously, bringing in new people brought in people with new ideas and inventions, bringing more interesting things to our country. Besides economy and culture? Well, what else is there? I'm sure some people fell in love with some nice immigrants. There you go.

This great debate of Immigration allows America the ability to look at itself. It has created another huge divide just like our last presidential election! People on both sides have solid points and ground to stand on (not the lies but the truth, which can be hard to discern) But again we stand a divided nation.
We are a country of fear...great and profound fear. On both sides. You can not be as angry as so many of us are without a great deal of fear - Psych. 101.
The ultimate question is How far down the rabbit hole will we go? What will sooth the fear, what will heal the divide? What facts will we rest on and which will we let go of? HOW MUCH Hatred, Anger & Fear will have to be expressed before we can compromise and move forward? How many wars, walls & bankruptcies will it take before people stand up & demand accountability & Peace... that is what scares me.
Immigration is good becuase along with so many other things on Americas plate, immigration sits at the foundation & root of our socitey. Good, bad or indifferent - it offers us a huge mirror.

Obviously it helps America when the best from other countries come here- scientists, doctors, computer people, even sportspeople (Navratilova, Olajuwon etc.).
But it also hurts America- lot of immigrants bring in culture of corruption with them from home countries. Also immigrants add to population- disaster for environment, crowded streets, shortages, less land in future, more crowded in National Parks etc.

Because without immigration, you wouldn't have ME! And that would be the greatest loss to America that I could think of. Without me, America will fall!
