It means you're thinking too hard about the movement of the planchett. I personally recommend that since the ouija is nothing more than an exercise in auto-writing, it is better to dispense with it and just do auto-writing. Not for any spiritual reasons, but just to be practical.
The version of auto-writing I like to do is auto typing. Get comfortable and have the keyboard in front of you. Close your eyes and tilt your head slightly, so that it's comfortable and not straining your neck. Begin to type every word you think. Even if it is something silly, doesn't make sense or if it repeats itself or you know you've typed something incorrectly, just keep going. Eventually you will 'phase out' of awareness even though you're still aware of typing from moment to moment. After a while, just stop.
Some people will put the text away and view it sometime much later (months). Some will read it right away. Some will throw it out without having read it (the idea is to let the subconscious purge its thoughts and then get rid of them). Either way, if the experience feels frightening or the things you type spook you, don't freak out, just don't do it again.

It means you did not pass eighth grade. Ouija is a Milton Bradley game.
