you look up a word in the dictionary and it says "nonstandard" after the pronunciation?

i've never come across something like this, but I think it is a word that is not usually used in the English language. Try looking at that same word in a thesaurus and find the definition of the synonym

It is like an alternative pronunciation, one that is used less often than the "standard" pronunciation
