I want to know how to make whipped cream icing that's used on sheet cakes and birthday cakes.

Of course, it's made out of whipped cream, but what are the other ingredients?

1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
4 tablespoons water, cold
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine Gelatin and Cold Water in small saucepan.
Let stand until thick.
Place over low heat, stirring constantly, just until Gelatin dissolves.
Remove from heat and cool, but do not allow to set.
Whip Cream, Sugar and Vanilla until slightly thickened.
While beating slowly, gradually add Gelatin to Whipped Cream mixture.
Whip at high speed until stiff.

WHIP CREAM ICING

1 1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. cornstarch (be sure it is packed tight)

Mix cornstarch and milk together until cornstarch is dissolved. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly over low heat. Then cook about 30 seconds more, still stirring. Let cool and then refrigerate until ICE cold. Overnight is best.

PART II:

1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. white Crisco
1/4 lb. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Optional: Coconut

Cream mixture until light and fluffy. Mix sugar, Crisco, butter and vanilla. Combine with cornstarch mixture. Whip until fluffy. After icing the cake press on coconut, if desired, to taste.

You can also add flavoring to it as well - some times I put kaluha in my chocolate one.

It is actually a lot easier than these recipes, just mix 3/4 cup of milk with 1 pkg pudding mix and fold in with cool whip
