Yes, I hate when a bar has tv's in it! I mean, if it's a sports bar, then I expect it, but I've noticed many regular bars have tv's all over and it just ruins the atmosphere. People are either way too loud, yelling at the tv or the tv's are loud and make too much backround noise.

Heck yeah. If I wanted the tv on while I drink beer I would have stayed home. Nothing like having a beer at the bar and the tv commercial for tampons comes on.

I think tv in bars is ok, as long as the volume is'nt too loud, Those people on their own need somewhere to look at times, and it can be a conversation starter.

How can a tv ruin the experience of drinking a beer? you can easily sit somewhere away from the telly and carry on boozing and chatting!

What? Good heavens, no! Unless they're playing something emotional and sad, like lifetime network. Then they might ruin the beer experience. They can be used for good, like football on sunday. Football goes with beer, like peanutbutter goes with jelly!

I've found it can help on occasion. If Monday Night Football is on then they stay to drink and watch the game. But if there isn't a worth sporting event on...then they go off and the music goes on! Were there to party!!!

Hell no ! If anything, they add to the enjoyment and experience of drinking. No T.V. means you are forced to talk to others which in turn causes less "lip to beer time" cause you gotta yap away. No T.V. forces you to play pool or throw darts causing less "hand to beer and beer to lips time. A waste of beer time I say. T.V.s n jukeboxes are ideal for bars cause you gotta use your ears and eyes, neither needed to consume a nice cold glass of beer.

Absolutely -- I totally despise television in pubs, unless it is in a separate room. I also despise canned/recorded music -- either have real musicians, or keep the place quiet.
