my fingers when using a flat iron? The hair gets so hot & burns my finger tips. Is there anything I can do?

THANKS!

I dont just touch it for the heck of it...it takes more than one pass with the straightener & after the first one its already hot!

Thanks! I will try the comb, actually I seen them do that at the salon, just didnt think it would be that easy to do on yourself.

Any other suggestions?

Try using a comb to hold your hair while straightening, works for me.

Trying getting a flat iron that has a dial on it for heat. U might even be burning your hair with too much heat if your finger are getting burned to wear its uncomfortable. And are u using the plate size for your hair.? What I mean is..its no use to having a big plate in your flat iron and u have short hair. Get a smaller plate size may help if this is the case. I have med length hair and the flat iron i have is the small one. Its easier for me to maneuver and has a dial on it so I can turn up or down the heat and only cost me $15. U can buy these to Wal-Mart, Wal-Green's, CVS, Sally's or anywhere that sells beauty supplies. Make sure the plate size matches your hair length and texture. Good luck.

Don't touch your hair with your fingers while it is still hot

try getting some thin gloves. With winter around the corner, stores like wal-mart will have super cheap thin gloves to try.
