Aspirin is made from the bark of a tree, birch I think, and has been around since at least the 1800's. The ancient Chinese discovered the benefits of opium long before the coming of Christ. In fact, the ancient Chinese found uses for most herbs and roots long, long ago, before there was even a United States.
