Plenty. This is a major argument Islam has against Christanity. Because there were so many pagans, the catholic church had to bring in pagan traditions inside it to reflect its new followers.
There are STILL pagan traditions within the Catholic Church and they can't do anything about it.
There are no pagan traditions within Islam.

And if you don't know what syncretism means, go take anthropology. Reading websters definition will not give you enough understanding.

My question to you is this: Do you believe pagan syncretism was a result of acculturation or was it not forced?

Oh and if go to South America and Central America you will see even scarier syncretism. Read about cargo cults, this is what christanity brings.

Yes, I had to look it up.
I think there is probably a LOT of syncretism in religious traditions and practices over the years. The Bible itself should remain a constant, but I'm sure through re-writings and translations over the years, some things may have been changed or lost. I do believe that what is important to know about salvation and the Kingdom of God remains intact though.

And thanks for your thought-provoking questions. You're one of the guys I look forward to 'seeing' in here.
