The world is getting better. Crime rates are the lowest they have been in 40 years. People have a much higher standard of living. People are better educated. Illegal Drug and Tobacco rates are down. Its really hard to think of a way in which that it is getting worse. Ok maybe the TV shows are worse.

Well I would rather live now then during the reign of Nero or Caligula, or during the fall of the Roman Empire. I don't think that the world was all love and joy during the Middle Ages either and I wouldn't trade this for WWII. Yeah the world sucks but no more then it ever has. You know I am a Christian and I believe that Jesus will return but I don't think there is anything overly significant about this period of time. The Christians who saw the fall of Jerusalem thought that was a sign of the end times as did those who lived through the turn of the first millennium. I think Revelations is the most misinterpreted book in the Bible and I feel embarrassed when people start talking like this.

Worse than what? Do you have ANY idea what life was like for the average person during, say, the middle ages? The average life span was about 50 years, most of that time spent filthy, impoverished and with barely ANY laws preventing you from being harmed or robbed. About 1 out of 5 babies survived their first year. About 1 out of 4 women died in childbirth. A broken bone or infection, if it didn't kill you would most likely leave you crippled. The ruling class could do ANYTHING to your or your family or your land (if you had any) and there was NOTHING you could do about it. City streets ran with open sewage. Disease was thought to be from 'bad spirits' and cured with bleeding you almost to death. If you lived in the center of civilization in a major city, you had basically 3 foods available to you if you had money:
Meat, bread and cabbage. Maybe. 99% of the population was illiterate. When it got dark, you went to sleep because there was NO radio, NO television, NO stereo, No electricity, No reading, nothing.

So again, I ask you, worse than what?

People 2,000 years ago said the same thing. In the Bible, the apostles thought they were living in the end times. I'm sure during World War 2 people thought the same thing. Things are bad, but worse?

I don't. We're just better able to hear about all the bad things, really fast. It used to be that cancer and diabetes were instant death sentences, animals went extinct without anyone even knowing or caring, people got sick from unsanitary conditions, etc. It used to be that we had Crusades and World Wars. And then there's the fact that we have the flush toilet! :-)

Evil always wants to be bigger than it is. And it blows itself up out
of proportion, wants to be the center of attention, and makes us think it is so BIG, we can't do anything about it.
But evil is not that big.
They say 500 people were killed with hand guns in New York City. And any loss of life is tragic. But there are 8,000,000 people in New York City.
Even in warn torn countries, the majority of people are EVERY
DAY PEOPLE. Trying to get by, and they aren't bothering
anyone.
Evil wants us to think we are so terrible. But it is the worldwide
catastrophe that will truly force humanity's hand.

The world is getting much worse. It's the beginning of the end days of the world and it's what is predicted in the Bible that will happen.

I do! In my opinion it's the morals and actions of the people of the world that are making it worse. Man is bringing the hate and destruction upon himself.

Unfortunately, the news coverage is usually about murders, kidnapping, rapes...etc. It isn't very often that you hear about groups that have fund raisers for people that have lost their homes in a fire, or people collecting winter coats for those who don't have them.
When I see some of the questions posted in this category, it makes me wonder if you're right, though.
