i know this girl that i like but i talk to her on yahoo more than i see her but we know each other very well and i want to ask her out but how do i if i tell her online???

Do not ask her out online. Wait until you are in person. She may and probably will think asking a girl out online is geeky.

Don't ask her "out". Ask her if she wants to do something. How do you even know if you want to "go out" with her, if you rarely see her? Find out if there are any movies that she'd want to see, and ask her if she wants to go. Ask her if she'd want to get something to eat before or after the movie. Then you can talk.
If it goes well, maybe you guys can hang out sometime. THEN after hanging out with her, ask her out.
If she doesn't want to/can't hang out (too many activities, etc), then how are you suppose to be with her when you're going out? Just something to think about.
