Sickle Cell Anemia Chromosome

Chromosome 11.

Hemoglobin is the protein in the blood that carries oxygen. It has 4 parts (or subunits) all hooked together. These 4 subunits are actually 2 pairs (so 1 pair of alpha subunits and 1 pair of beta subunits). The gene (DNA code) for the beta subunit is found on chromosome 11. One common variation of this DNA code is to change a single amino acid in the beta subunit of hemoglobin. This single amino acid substitution causes the entire hemoglobin molecule to take on a different shape. This alteration causes red blood cells themselves to take on a different shape, since they are loaded with hemoglobin molecules. The red cell can become bowl-like, or sickled. It does not carry as much hemoglobin and hence, sickle cell anemia.

11p15.5 - The HBB gene is found in region 15.5 on the short (p) arm of human chromosome 11.

A thymine molecule is substituted for an adenine molecue, making that sequence GTG instead of GAG causing placement of valine for glutamic acid amino acid, which changes the 3-D structure of the hemoglobin molecule ever so slightly as to allow them to polymerize in the absence of the central oxygen molecule.

even as God created guy he develop into ideal. guy rebelled antagonistic to God and we sinned. because of that sin death, ailment and suffering got here upon the international. The longer we stay the added corrupt our genes grew to develop into. that's so effortless as that. If evolution develop into brought about through genetic mutation then why have we no longer discovered any sensible mutations. This video disproves evolution more suitable than it proves it.
