In the 1900s? When and where? Regardless I don't think there's a biblical basis for Christians to burn witches, we need to try to get them saved.

I agree. There are no witches though. Those women were innocent, which makes this even harder. Witch hunting was more in the 16th, 17th and 18th century. Anyway, yeah it was really mean, i am Catholic and i just dont understand. They are complaining because they get persecuted, how bad is that? And where is the evidence that show that witches are against God?

I'm not aware of witch burnings in the 20th century. A few examples of the idiocy in Africa where people were accused of being witches and were killed, but no burnings.
I'm assuming you mean the 1600's and 1700's mass hysteria.
They weren't witches, it was paranoia. They did it because human beings have a cruel, violent and stupid streak smack in the middle of our nature. Religions provide an excuse to call it piety.

Because of ignorance and intolerance and are you sure it was the 1900"s? I always thought it was the 1600"s but then maybe my ignorance is showing.

Simple. Because Christians, just like the rest of humankind, are sinners. We all make mistakes. And yes, that was a big mistake. Christians who say they are perfect have just told another lie.
It wasn't very Christ-like. But Christ didn't do it - we did.

Isiah 2:6 - God, you've walked out on your family Jacob because their world is full of hokey religion, Philistine witchcraft, and pagan hocus-pocus, a world rolling in wealth, Stuffed with things, no end to its machines and gadgets, And gods—gods of all sorts and sizes. These people make their own gods and worship what they make. A degenerate race, facedown in the gutter. Don't bother with them! They're not worth forgiving!
witches and witchcraft according to the bible are wrong

It had more to do with economics and society than religion.
Good crops were very important as well as health, etc. It had similiarities to Indian sacrifices made. But no one really sees it that way.
Man, myself, a muslim is defending christians...what is happening?!

Because they didn't believe the same as them and most that were burned were wrongly accused due to petty jealousies and misunderstandings.
