the air that sustains us in life is invisible you cant see it but you know its there right i think of it like this so what if you cant see him
just believing in god makes things better for those that do it gives us hope in our darkest times everyone one believes in god for a variety reasons there are many different religions these days we all dont share the same god religion is all in how you interpret it
so many people believe in a higher power there has to be some truth to it his son gave up his life for our sins a sacrifice that not many people would make them selfs miracles happen every day bad things happen everyday we were given free will to choose to believe or not to believe he hasn't said you have to this or do that he gave us options make our own choices he gave us knowledge he gave us light he gave us one of the greatest things ever i think he gave us a second chance we are already condeemed we are all born spiritly dead and heaaded for damnation in hell the devil knows that they is only one way to escape hell's flames so he works hard to stop from learning the way to escape one of his favorite weapoms is religion he uses it to keep billions in bondage the devil also uses education. Many think that they are too smart to accept this one truth the devil keeps some people so busy chasing the cares of the world they never stop to consider this truth he uses sports to keep many others away from it we already belong to the devil with out christ we are doomed all through life we make choices some times right sometimes we blow it there is one choice that is more important than all others. its vital that you make the right decision before you die you dont have to choose between god and the devil we ahve a terrible enemy that hates our guts and wants you in hell forever but we also have an all powerful friend who loves you and wants you to be with him in heaven : by one man(adam) entered into the world, and death by sin and the death passed upon all men for that we all have sinned in whom the god of this world(satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of christ who is the image of god should shine unto them whoever believth in him should not perish but have ever lasting life there is only one way to escape he is through faith in jesus christ those who believe that jesus died for thier and trust him as their savior are born into gods family they recieve the gift of eternal life now and will

I believe in things I cannot see, hear, or touch. Like God. And also alien beings as well! I still don't think that we are the only intelligent life form in all of space. Do you? Do you know where space actually starts, and ends? Einstein once said; if you could see the end of space, you would be looking at the back of your own head! And, people who drive race cars that burn methanol or alcohol can't see the flames from a fire, should they get into an accident, but they still get burned just the same. Just ask them!

OK i will tell you a story about a guy that had asked the same question...

that guy was sitting with an old man, they were talking about religious things, he asked the old man the same question.He said: why do people believe in god but they can't see him.The old man slapped his face and said nothing. The guy was surprised about what he did, so he asked him with an anger : for what did you slap me for??
the old man replayed to him by saying: Does it heart's??
Is it painful??. The guy said: OF-COURSE IT is PAINFUL . The the old man said: Can you see it??. The guy replayed: NO, then the old man said: See you can feel the pain but you cannot see it, I am giving you as a simple example so that you could understand why do people believe in god , People cannot see him , but they feel about him,,,

I hope you get the point...;) lool

Everyone does. Everyone believes in things they haven't seen.

* Their own brain
* The far side of the Moon
* Time
* Viruses

Some things can be proved or demonstrated to be very likely to exist. Others have no actual proof at all - and that is where faith comes in. People who believe in God have no proof that He exists (and Christians must not actually look for proof because that shows a lack of faith). Faith is what you have when you cannot prove what you believe.

There are very few things that we don't have some evidence of: You can't see "tomorrow", but you can believe in it because you've seen it tens of thousands of times.
I think you are asking about "faith", which is a little different.
Faith is believing in spite of a dearth of evidence, and the reasons why are as individual as the people who do it.
Basically, it satisfies a need.

Reality in essence isn't all that it is cranked up to be either! We need a vacation from it. Religion is not always bad for us. Thinking about the world and what it all means can be enlightening if taken from the right approach too.

Why do you have to see something to believe in it. I've never seen my heart or brain, but I know I have them. We can see evidence of the existence of something even though it cannot be seen directly.

That's pretty much the DEFINITION of belief. To believe in something is to accept it without having any proof of it. If you had seen it, you woulnd't be able to "believe" it existed because you would "know" it existed.

As said above I believe in many things I've never seen. So do you unless you're psychotic.
