Line on a road crossing persons lollypop stick is or was used for.

THe Black Broad line on the Lollypop was used by the lollypop person to write on in chalk if he/she saw an accident. The information could then be given to the police. Obviously another old custom we continue with even though it is not used anymore. Does the crossing person still have the chalk in their pocket I wonder!

As far as I can remember, it used to say 'Patrol', and nowadays it doesn't. Not sure why!

Hope this helps!
