hmmmmmmm... well have a look here....

I do believe racial profiling can be used in a harmful way, but in police work it's just working with facts.
The racial disproportion among people arrested doesen't have to do with tactics and methods used by police, its due to disproportional criminal behavior by certain races. The root causes for this dont have to do with police action but rather socio-economic inequalities.
I think it can help a community deal more efficiently with crime if used correctly, i.e. not as the only tool for profiling, and if it isn't abused of.

Racial profiling in almost all cases works to protect people, but since it is politically incorrect, it is often frowned upon. For instance if someone steals a bunch a tennis rackets from a pro shop, the cops would likely (in an ideal PC free world) target white people for the crime. If it's rims and car cd players that are stolen, the cops would likely look for a black person. If the cops are looking for a airplane hijacker, we all know they are targeting Muslims. Racial profiling is simply using unwanted truths to help find a criminal. It may not be popular, but it works.

I usually goof off when I'm on here but I'll be serious for a sec or two.......Unfortunately we live in a world that bases actions of humans on race. Since that is the case we use racial profiling in daily activities......Because of there work police use profiling, however it neither helps or harms it is what it is.....Teach our kids to be good citizens and choose good friends to help the community!!.....OK back to goofing off!!!

all police use racial profiling -- case in point "Attention, be on the look out for a white male driving a blue ford....." for the rest of the day the officer will have a profile attached with every white male he comes in contact with as a potential criminal.... see --

because it no longer applies to criminal activity. i work nights, and see a lot. crack cocain knows no racial or economic boundaries, and it makes me wonder if racial profiling was ever really legitimate in the first place. crime has nothing to do with race, it has to do with the propensity to commit a crime, and drugs are usually the reason people commit crimes. profiling harms a community because the community may be overlooking the ones who are habitual abusers, because they are not black.

By allowing the police to use their heads to do their jobs more efficiently.
Example: Pull a bum off the street and bring in a garbage man, an illegal alien farm worker, and a college professor. Give them all an English test. Who would more than likely get the best score? Remember, no profiling. How did you come to your conclusion?

It can never help. Look how stupid they were with 9/11. Most of those people who helped those hi-jackers were of different races. See, when you focus on one color, the rest of the criminals take advantage of that. It never helps, it's just racisim. Pure and simple.
