Think before you speak, in the "real world". Do you apply that same practice to this forum??
Be honest, please. Thank you for your answers.

Chanteuse....so nice to see you again!! I'm locked out of my 360 or I'd stop by and say "hi". It'll start working eventually. Glitches.

Pablito and Southpaw....I've never known either of you to be anything other than respectful.
The same goes for many of you here.

I like that the cat avatars say the oddest things..
I rarely speak in the real world. I'm very shy and I like to blend in with the wall so people won't notice me. So I'm always thinking before I speak.

I always try to think before I speak & in real life this works for me fine. On the computer we aren't in tune with the other people as well & there are times I know my answers aren't coming through in the tone I want them to. I also feel like an *** when my ignorance of a topic shows through when I make a comment that's taken the wrong way, sometimes it's difficult to tell if folks are serious or not by the way the questions are worded or by the way I percieve them.

Some might say that I'm a bit slow, but I tend to think about and fully evaluate questions asked of me. I am a shaman, a teacher of sorts, to those that are younger than I. As such, it would be irresponsible of me to be impulsive in my answer to a serious question asked of me. I simply am what I am. I live how I believe to be right and tho some might consider me strange or archaic, this is who I am. In my world, or should I say, around me I temper any response with love and compassion toward all. That with a little wisdom and knowledge has carried me thus far. And if for some reason I can not help, then I try not to hinder.
Aho,

I try as hard as I can in the real world to think first. I fail sometimes. I do think before I 'speak' in this forum. However, I have noticed that there are questions I will answer in this forum that I would probably walk away from if I was face to face with someone. Interesting...

I do try my best to think before I speak in the "real world." Unfortunately, because of a few challenges like ADHD and a learning disability, my mouth can sometimes get ahead of my logic. Writing in the forums and writing in general is much easier for me where thinking is concerned. Until I hit the "Send," "Submit," or "Enter" key, my words don't affect anyone. I want what I say to help people not hurt them. And, sometimes in the real world, I can say something thoughtless without meaning to. I try my best to avoid that, but I'm not perfect! :)

Absolutely. I often read over what I've written here and make several changes before I hit submit. Since I can't do that while speaking I tend to say less, and miss some opportunities to put my two cents in, but at least what I do say comes out how I wanted to say it.
Mind you, this doesn't mean that I never offend anyone. It just means that when I do offend someone, I did it knowing full well that I would.

I do tend to think before I speak in the real world, and depending on how challenging the question is, on this forum I think before I answer. Sometimes questions on here do not require much thought at all and sometimes even after answering a question I might find my self thinking about it later on in the day.

I don't always practice restraint the way I should. However, I do make an effort.
There are two practices which I try to use to keep me out of trouble. First, I try to stick to the topic when I answer a question. Second, I look at some of the other postings to see if I understood it correctly.
Despite what I try, there are the times when I become a smart *** because the question irritates me. I need to watch myself.

Yes, I make it a practice to think before inserting foot! Seriously I try to always think before I speak whether it be in this forum or in real life conversations.Only when I am overly upset do I have a tendency to let my good intentions go out the proverbial window!
