I personally like Depo-Provera because it's easy to forget a daily pill, and with a shot given by a Dr, I can be sure it's gonna work as long as I get the shot on schedule. Been using Depo off and on for over 5 years without a pregnancy... It's efficiency is somewhere around 99.7%.
A friend of mine swears by her IUD, and I suppose it's a more long term option, but if you decide you want to get pregnant again, I think you have to see the Dr to get it removed, where as with Depo, you just go a few months without the shot. IUD's are between 98-99.8% effective.

I used the pills and hated having to remember to take it every day at the same time. I got an IUD and love it. But you need to talk to your OB about having it inserted. They are usually good for 5-10 yrs. My first one was Mirena and released hormone right from the stem. I hardly had a period after about a year of having it. Now I have a cooper T and cramps are stronger but dealable. Periods are a little longer than a week but I have only had since July. I won't need a new one until my 9 yr old is 18! How awesome is that?!! But again it's not for everyone. Hope this helps

I've taken tri-cyclen for 3 years now, and it's never failed me! I'm not saying that it is the best, but I have no problems with it.
One fairly unknown fact you should be aware of tho: some herbal supplements actually lower the effectiveness of birth control pills. I do not know which ones are harmless or not, but I do know echinacea severely lowers the effectivness. And since they are so easy to get a hold of alot of women do not know about this. And I'm not even sure if they have warnings on most of the bottles. So be careful what you're taking with the pill, even if it seems harmless!

Abstinence.
Saying,"Not tonight dear, I have a headache..."
Picking a fight right before bedtime.
They all worked for me and *I* ended up (luckily) with only THREE kids... (g)
Did you know that taking an antihistamine will *also* interfere with your birth control pill? The pill won't be as effective. Just thought you should know. Before you start to rely heavily on and take a birth control pill for granted, you should really confer with *both* your doctor AND your pharmacist to see which drugs don't interact well with the pill. The results of your study will astound you. It also might explain why the pill seems to be failing you.

I'm breast-feeding and haven't had aunt-flo yet (my son is 10 months) so far we are not pregnant. I want to have another child soon which is why I'm not using any form of protection. We'll probably use condoms otherwise. Ingesting hormones screwed up my system really bad and I'll never take the pill again. We'll probably get all our kids out of the way and then get the tubes tied.

I'd guess you have a problem with the pill; my sister got pregnant 3 different times on 3 different pills. You might want to consider another type of birth control (condoms and spermicide, IUD or diaphragm)

I got pregnant while on the pill as well. Did you know that if you dont take it at the same time every day, it doesnt work as well? and if you take antibiotics (such as penicillin) it wont work at all?
i tried the shot...it made my hair fall out, though i know a lot of ppl are very happy with it. just know that once you stop using it, it could take up to 1 year to concieve.
my body is sensitive to foreign objects and i have sesitive skin....which leaves out the patch and IUD's for me, but they are something to consider.
my best reccomendation is Nuva Ring. it has the same potency as the pill, but a smaller failure rate, due to the smaller chance of human error. its a little plastic ring that is inserted into the vagina for 3 weeks and removed for your period. then you put a new one in....its that simple!
for those who react to the hormone levels in the pill, this is a smaller dose, and less likely to cause things like cramping, etc. check it out!

in simple terms an FYI birth control pills aren't any further one hundred% any way having that being suggested i do no longer imagine that anybody might want to scientifically answer your question with one hundred% actuality. in case you do not favor to have little ones immediately in simple terms pray that each and every challenge is high quality and BTW inspite of birth control it remains continually threat-free to apply condoms...birth control pills do no longer preclude STD's. i'm a mom and for my section I knew i develop into pregnant and that i wasn't even 2 weeks pregnant yet!!! so in case you sense high quality hun i'd not even difficulty yet when your body feels diverse bypass take a attempt and get on with existence! Respectfully, Mii23 OBAMA 08' VOTE FOR replace!

Besides abstience if you've had all the kids you want to have then have him get a vasectomy or get your tubes tied. I have 2 kids of my own and one by marriage. I don't want anymore so i got the snip on my satchel and it hasn't affected my sex life one bit.
Hope you aren't taking any other herbal remedies or pills that lower your birth control pills effectiveness. If two didn't work either somethings amiss or your babies were born wearing armor.
