Yes the Skyline is technically legal in the united states. The r32, r33 and r34 were being imported by Motorex for a while until the owner had some troubles with the law. The R32 and R34 have no gone over proper crash tests and are not allowed to be imported for street use anymore, while the R33 has gone thru the proper tests, and can continue to be sold. The skylines that have been already passed thru can continue to be street legal, but no new ones can be brought over for the streets.

The Nissan Skyline is an intermediate-size automobile range sold in Japan and other countries. It is available in either coupe or sedan body styles. The current Skyline is sold in North America, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Middle East as the Infiniti G35.

It's legal to own a Skyline in the US and to race it at the track. But, it's not legal to drive it on the streets unless you have it comply with US DOT standards. I believe only RB Motoring does that now a days.

r32 and r33 skylines are legal, however the populat r34 is not. there are few that were imported before the big snafu with motorex that are still legal, but no chance on legally getting one in the states now. and to mustang656, some people would rather have a dependable car that is just as fast as a v8 and still save on gas. try it, you might like it!

Japan cars do not meet the emissions and safety requirements. Beside being right hand drive. New Nissan 350Z can run circles around it in Handling Braking and Smoothness.

The new ones are street legal. Frankly I don't care for Nissan. It is still a much better choice than Ford, GM, Dodge, or Chevy. I prefer mine M6 though the handling is abit stiff as compare to the Japanese counterpart.

No! After you pay 5000 to 30000 for the car, and 2500-5000 to have it shipped, you'll need to pay motorex in cali 18000 to legalize it and get a US VIN NUMBER. If you've got that kind of dough by all means go for it.
