I hate this country, too!!! (America, that is)

And I HATE it when people say that this is the best damn country in the world when they haven't even BEEN to another country.

I hate that people see my country as arrogant, but it's true! Americans are a bunch of arrogant, narrow-minded morons, and I'm ashamed to be counted among them. (I wonder how many people are now shouting at their screens to tell me to get out?)

I hate that so many Americans see immigrants as vermin, as disease-carrying rodents. They're just human beings. America spouts that it's the "greatest country" and are surprised when unfortunate people try to make a better life for themselves within our borders?

But I agree with you 100%.

OK, so you have the freedom to say you hate this country whether you like in the U.S. or the U.K. -- which begs the obvious question: If you hate your current country so much, why do you live there? Why don't you find another country that is more to your liking? What good is b!tching, griping, whining, moaning or complaining going to do? Just remember, if you have the right to say you hate your country, everyone around you has the right to rip you up one side and down the other for it.

What's happening here in the U.S. is there's a growing group of Americans who are just plain sick and tired of hearing Americans bad-mouth America. Many of them have the attitude of "America -- Love it or leave it!" but others have the attitude of "Well then get up off your useless @$$ and do something about what you don't like or SHUT THE HELL UP!!!"

NOTHING in this world is "free". Despite its problems, America remains the country of choice for the vast majority of immigrants, legal and illegal.

In the UK, one is no longer free to protect themselves with a handgun, yet millions of illegal weapons have poured into that country, and violent crime is on the rise. I have seen a case where a farmer shot one of two men who broke into his house and threatened him, yet the criminals were set free and charges pressed against the farmer. Yet another is the Tony Martin case in England where Mr. Martin got jail time for manslaughter after defending himself with a weapon from a burglar.

I've been to London and other places in England, had a wonderful time there, and would like to visit again. However, it has its shortcomings like anywhere else. Just remember, were it not for America, most of Europe, possibly England as well, would be speaking German.

I think you missed the point of the phrase. When I remember this phrase being so popular, it was in rebuttal to a lot of demonstrations and flag burning over Viet Nam. People were going to Canada to get out of the draft. The phrase was a response, not a necessarily a national creed.

America was last free under king George reason being he was thousands of miles away and it took 3-4 months for his laws to reach the states, since the introduction of the American government you have never been free, like all countries in the world even democratic ones your not free, its just a case that the government isn't as blatant in suppressing the people as fascists and communist dictatorships.

If you have so much freedom, why are people getting arrested for using the term POMMY over there. Your stupid hate speech laws are so draconian they are laughable and sad. Plus, you are not even FREE to defend yourself in your own house from an armed intruder. Before you start ranting about the USA you have a ton of crap at your house to fix. Please do so then get back to us.

That's nice you feel that way.

I've been living in foreign countries with weird languages most of my life. I think I can say that America pretty much rocks.

But anyway. Your opinion.

We ARE free to bad mouth the country if we want, I think the point is, if you don't like it here, you are free to leave.
