I've always wandered that because if it's Tuna then why do they call it chicken, but if its chicken then why do they say of the sea?

They call it chicken of the Sea because people in the 1940s and 50s ate chicken dinners nearly every day of the week and the advertisment was intended to get them to think of Tuna as the new chicken or a good replacement for chicken.....but from the sea.

It's tuna. The Term " Chicken of the Sea" was given to tuna, because tuna is eaten as much as chicken is. I was confused for a minute also until I actually read the label...

It's tuna! A lot of people eat chicken as a land meat, a lot of people also like tuna which is from the sea, tuna is the chicken of the sea!

Chicken of the Sea is a brand name for tuna. Tuna is one of the staple fishes in the sea, ergo the name, or as some people believe it to be literally the chicken of the sea

Chickenof the sea can be chicken with a bit of tuna in it and they call it of the sea maybe just for advertisement.
