Pretend I'm an atheist and I'm "applying" for a religion, for lack of a better word. If I were to ask you what makes your religion so special and why I should join it, what would be your answer? Why should I believe your religion over others?

I would tell you that you shouldn't believe my religion. You should believe YOUR religion. True religion is simply your personal relationship with God. You should obtain any information you can about God through any means you can find, whether this is through various "holy" books, other people, or through direct communion with God. God himself will help you determine which of the information is true. From this you will develop your relationship with God -- your religion.

Organized religion is an entirely different animal. People like to feel that they belong and that they are part of a group of like-minded people. This is all well and good, but this also tends to lead to the dogmatization and ritualization of religion to the point where it is less about a relationship with God and more about conforming to a particular church's doctrines. One would be better served by following the leadings of the fragment of God which lives within oneself than by following any particular denomination and its built-in biases and preconceived notions about what and who God is and how you should worship or relate to him.

There are many "holy" books which can help you develop your relationship with God. I have personally found the information in the Urantia Book to be the most rewarding in that respect.

I am not a subscriber to any specific religion...other than Buddhism. I would say that there is a God, the whole universe/all of reality is Jesus, and that existentialism is very difficult to live with. Most religions, due to the unintelligent followers and lack of proper dialogue, are based on lies/denial of the true bad things that reality holds for us. Religion is a drug with great highs, and a lot of people die with smiles on their faces because they OD-ed. The quitting cold turkey will kill you with a frown on your face.

To answer your question succinctly: Buddhism is best for day to day life (pragmatically).

Great Question! This is why I still don't know... I'm not saying that there is not a "higher power" out there, but how can I ever know what the right one is? I can't. You are brought up as a christian, muslim, jew, ect. then more than likely this is what you will be as well. A lot of educated people do have problems with this question. If you ever find the answers that you are really lookign for, let me know!

The decision is yours to make, everyone is different. All religions have the same principles (compassion, morality, love) its whatever method helps you apply them best (if that means atheism then thats still a perfectly valid option aswell).

My religion is different in that it is a living religion in that, the Lord gives direct revelation to His people through a true and living prophet on the earth today as in biblical times. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true and living church on the earth today and is directed by God himself through His living prophet: Gordon B. Hinckley.

I would give my personal testimony... that is all any of The Faith can do... If you truly wish to seek further God will lead you study... those of The Faith will assist as they can... but it is between you and God.

I invite you to read an abreviated testimony. it is of my first day of The True Christian Faith. It is not all that long
