You have to realize that you are "sneaking" in. Mexicans KNOW they aren't doing it legally. What is THEIR motivation for coming into America illegally? Is it for the work? The lifestyle? The healthcare?

The majority of illegal aliens are coming to America in search of work and the chance at a better life. You cannot blame these people for trying, if I were there I am sure I would be doing it also. However, what they are doing is illegal and while we can sympathize with their plight, we cannot allow people to break our laws. There are plenty of countries around the world racked with poverty. We cannot take in the whole world, no matter how much compassion we feel. When we say it's ok, come here, stay long enough and we will make you legal, it only invites more to try. We tried this in the 80's with 2 million illegals, now we have anywhere from 12 - 20 million more to deal with. At some point we have to draw the line and say this will not be tolerated any longer. This also doesn't take into account the message it sends to those who are willing to follow the law and attempt to achieve legal citizenship. Illegal immigration is bad. To speak out against it is not racist and it is not inhumane. It is simply doing what we are all expected to do. Following the law of the land!

First of...they don't get the health care. I used to grant Medicaid and illegals are not qualified to get it.

Next, if you've ever been to the poorer parts of Mexico, you'd see that there are people still living like they are in a 3rd world country. No indoor plumbing, no running water, wood floor, blanket for a door.

I went and stayed at a 5 star resort once and while I was laying on the beach, a guy comes up with a tray of jewelry (nice too) and offers also that his wife braids hair from their "house" further down the beach. When I arrived, it was a crude shack with goods and wears for sale and their little 2 yr old trying to sell me stuff.

I'd try and get away from that too.

They can make more working a few months here for less than minimum wage than they can a whole year in Mexico. Many sneak in during the harvest time and then head home in the winter taking the money they've earned with them.

When you immigrate to the USA or Europe, Priority is given to the wealthy ones and those with an extraordinary talent. the thing is that poor people dont have either one, because if they would have an extraordinary talent they would have money and if they would have money they wouldnt need to come here. So they come illegally cause it is impossible for them to meet the requirements to come legally, back in the days was easier, but every day they get tougher and tougher immigration rules

I'm not Mexican....but I would imagine that "sneaking" in to the US wasn't not their first choice. People die trying to come here. Yes, they come here to work, for oppurtunities..because in parts of Mexico it is a very hard life for many. Hard enough for them to risk their lives to cross the border. I don't agree that people should come here illegally, but I'm sure they wouldn't try to cross if their lives in Mexico had better oppurtunities.

It's the fact that they won't make thirty cents an hour for doing twenty times the work.

Or the fact that their child is ill and their thirty cents an hour job doesn't cover healthcare.

Or the fact that their "house" is made of sticks and cardboard.

Or the fact that their government is horrible and they're afraid of being prosecuted for a crime without proper legal representation.

Just to name a few.

So yes, they know what they are doing is illegal but I would do whatever it took to ensure a better life for my family if I lived under any of those (or all, as some do) conditions.

MOST of them come for ONE reason....because they are GREEDY!!!!! Studys have shown that it is NOT the "poor" people that we keep hearing about, but it IS the "i want MORE" people!!!!They COVET what Americans have in this country!! They TAKE what is NOT theirs to take!!!!

And,YES,they know it's wrong, that's why they SNEAK over here and HIDE in the shadows!!!They want it ALL!!! The 'free" medical, the "free" food stamps, the "low-income/free" housing, the "free' money!!!! It is "free" to them, but it COSTS every taxpayer!!!!! ILLEGALS do NOT pay federal or state taxes!!!!!!

Work. Most do not even want to stay here. They are here for the money. But end up staying here. We should help them leave.
