If you are traveling out of the United states then you need your green card, your passport and an approved re-entry form to get back into the United States.

Be careful and make sure that you have all of these things before you travel out of the United states. My friend who is from Vieatnam on a student Visa and I went to mexico for the weekend and he almost could not get back into the United States, even though he had a valid drivers license and his Student Visa.

He had to fill out a re-entry form on the mexico side of the border and had a bad time. He has been scared to travel ever since.
