Joseph Smith said the Book of Mormon was more correct than the Bible.
"I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book." (History of the Church, Vol. 4, page 461)

question. God who MAKES history God how is in control
Da 4:25... acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes.

WHY do you think God was not able to keep His word (bible) safe. are you saying God was not able to do this. God who gives wisdom and power This is a INSULT to God MOST HIGH and really sad that you believe this INSULT

Da 2:21 He changes times and seasons;he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
Da 2:22 He reveals deep and hidden things;he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
I say this in the hope of REPENTANCE

Mormon Apostle Orson Pratt wrote in 1851, "The Book of Mormon claims to be a divinely inspired record. . . . This book must be either true or false. . . . If false, it is one of the most cunning, wicked, bold, deep-laid impositions ever planned upon the world, calculated to deceive and ruin millions who will sincerely receive it as the word of God. . . . If true, no one can possibly be saved and reject it; if false, no one can possibly be saved and receive it

In studying the Book of Mormon, one soon finds numerous historical, geographical, and scientific errors.

First, in Mormon 9:32 the Book of Mormon claims to have been written in Reformed Egyptian, but Egyptologists say this language does not exist.

Second, in Alma 7:10, Jerusalem is called a land or country when it is a city.

In Alma 46:15 the saved in America take on the name Christian in 73 B.C. In the Bible, believers are not called Christian until 50 A.D. in Acts 11:3.

Nephi 17:7 teaches that leprosy occurred in America in 34 A.D. but no cases of leprosy here are known until 1758.

Mormon 9:2 and other references teach that the Indians had official records, scrolls, and other writings, but historical research shows no such records were kept. (Mormon 5:23, 3 Nephi 9:18, 12:18)

Not only are there historical errors, but there are false teachings as well.

Alma 24:16 teaches that burying swords deep in the earth will keep them bright. Basic science proves that burying steel objects causes decay and rust.

2 Nephi 13:24 teaches that baldness is caused by sin.

Other absurdities include the teaching that God curses Indians with dark skin and anyone who marries an Indian will be cursed (2 Nephi 5:21 Jacob 3:3-9, Mormon 5:15-17, Alma 3:6-10). However, when Indians accept the Mormon teaching, they will become white and delightsome. (2 Nephi 30:5-7)

There appear to be internal contradictions also.

In 3 Nephi 9:18, Jesus allegedly preached to the Nephites who fled Jerusalem in 600 B.C. with concepts communicated in the Greek language. But the Nephites are said to have written and spoken in Reformed Egyptian. Therefore, they would have no knowledge of Greek since Alexander, who lived in the 4th century, had not Hellenized the world yet. Jesus preaching to the non-Greek Nephites declaring, "I am the Alpha and the Omega," would have not made any sense.

Moreover, Joseph Smith and the Mormons claim the gold plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated had no Greek or Latin in them. However, Alpha and Omega are Greek, not Egyptian terms. Even stranger is that the French word "adieu" is used as a farewell in Jacob 7:27.

In contrast to the Book of Mormon, the Bible proves to be historically accurate and internally consistent. It also does not have the absurd teachings that we find in the Book of Mormon.

The evidence appears to point to the fact that the Book of Mormon is not an ancient historical text, but an 18th century work created by Joseph Smith.

The Bible was not given to us in a word for word dictation form, nor is there a case of any biblical writer using an occult object to receive revelations from God like Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. Occult methods, such as crystal gazing, are forbidden in the Bible (Deuteronomy 18:9-14, Lev. 19:26, 31).

Wow a lot of bitterness in here. Look, it’s more true because it has not been corrupted by time like the Bible. Time translations and interpretations have caused many confusion. If the Bible is unfaultable, then why are there so many interpretations of it? Many religions believe many different things about one verse. For the BoM, It’s one of two. The church’s view, and others. Please note, that any other analysis and conclusion of a verse in the BoM are not consistent with each other. Still doubt the authenticity, Then I invite you to try and write your own religious scripture. But there are strict guidelines that the BoM does follow. Here is a site that lists the requirements to write a book like the BoM good luck!........OOPS, you already missed it, sorry.

As a Mormon LDS, I can honestly say we study both the Bible and the Book of Mormon , and hold them will high respect, even recognized both book has human errors.

Yes we do believe in the Bible as it is translated correctly, and I 'm sure you agree, the bible do have many precious doctrine that was lost.
and if anything was lost in the Bible is man's error , not God's, so the "insult" to God's intelligent that you imply is only apply to man, not God. Remember, God gave man the free agency to act for themselves.

To explain my point in a few words, from the Bible, you have thousands of religions with different doctrines, but from the Book of Mormon, you have only "The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints", so you tell me, why there is so much controversal Christian churches, when there is only one Bible?

Yeah, Mormonism sounds like it must be true ;-) A man who finds some gold tablets in a mountain (that he doesn't let anyone see), sees visions (hallucinations) of angels (that no-one else sees), translates this 'book' by looking into a hat (by his own admission), and then 'looses' the book that could prove he is not a total fraud.

The word of mormon god once told them that black people were inferior and should be excluded from mormon churches etc, that black people had the mark of cain. this was (coincidentally?) changed (god told them to change these rules) round about the time the church was facing legal proceedings for racial discrimination. I wonder why there almighty god could not have changed the law, he felt he had to capitulate in the face of the US legal system. Not very omnipotent then. And the mormons don't seem too tolerant or inclusive.

This is one of a very long line of things that sucessive mormon 'prophets' have changed over the years. Read their 'prophecies'...man will never fly...man is destined never to leave this planet...dinosaurs never existed...polygamy is correct...then it isnt...smoking is ok...then it isnt...dont drink caffeine...but the church is a major shareholder in coca cola.

wake up.

I do not hold that the Book of Mormon is a correct book or that it is better than the Bible. The Bible is the standard. When a book that cant agree with itself disagrees with the Bible, then IT is the thing that is pitched - not the Bible!

Don't hope for repentance. Mormons are as set on converting you as you are on converting them. You have no intention of changing to the Mormon faith and they have no intention of changing to yours. Both of your sects have the best intentions in saving peoples' immortal souls, but your executions are the worst I've seen. Live your own life in a virtuous manner and let people see you and wonder what's different about you. You will draw more people that way than random pontificating for your cause.

I think King James Version Bible is the best book there is, not the Mormon book.

Well, we use both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and I personally find them both enriching,

but in a word - yes- I personally love that quote. Because the Bible went through many translations, and even a series of voting on what would be in it. The Book of Mormon didn't, so we see it as a better preserved word of God, and yes, God is capable of preserving His word, and we see the Book of Mormon as exactly one of the ways He did just that.

I know that wasn't what you were looking for, but that's it in a nutshell. Best wishes

Bible is a textbook of the truth, not the truth itself. The ink on the pages is valuable, but it has to be applied in life to show you its veracity. Same goes for Mormon scripture.

I was raised in the Mormon church and I sang all the primary songs and memorized my articles of faith, but I never got a CTR ring. When I was 8 yrs old and they wanted to baptize me, I said, "no thanks". and I was never baptized.

To this day, I can not see how the LDS church can believe in the "book of Mormon" when it's not that old and written based on the beliefs of one man.

The bible is much, much older and there are other texts and scrolls out there that are even older.
