I just want to correct you a little bit.

Religion does not equal faith.

Religion does not equal belief.

People of faith, and believers do not use God as a weapon.

People who are busy telling others they're going to hell have no faith. If they did, they'd know God doesn't like people using Him to hurt others.

People who go to war in the name of God, well, it's just my opinion that He's got a special hell for them.

Buddhists don't believe in God. They believe in the supernatural. But not so much a divine creator of all things. What is, always has been. A cycle of death and rebirth. I've met a number of Buddhists with deep faith. Just not faith in a supreme being.

I became an atheist this summer, but I still have a conscience, and I'm sorry for being a bad son, a bad grandson, and for breaking a woman's heart.

At least now, for I to feel guilty about something, it has to do actual harm, so no, atheists are guilt-free over stuff like masturbation or homosexuality.

Thats just it. Without religion, people would have nothing to believe in. Nothing to look forward to after death. Nothing that they can clinge to for their quest for the meaning of life. Without religion, some would be lost. Its one philosophical approach to the meaning and beginning of our would and life as we know it.

Conspiracy, greed, sloth, lies, money, cheating, stealing, plastic surgery, VD, HIV, IUD, lust, repression... the list goes on and on and on....

Oh, but if you have religion, you can just ignore all that and let the non-believers try to clean up the mess.

Religion = irresponsibility

religion is one of the three basic requirements for culture and society. the other two are political and military. not only are these three basic requirements to establish a culture and society but a main reason that allow certain people to maintain control in them. when people started banding together an early form of culture and society started being formed until people arrived at the nations, cultures and societies of today.

Morality. The meaning we bring to our own lives. The hope for a better tomorrow, through compassion and knowledge. To increase that knowledge on a daily basis. The greater good of humanity even though it's usually hard to see it behind the bullcrap we pull.

Believe in yourself. You really do not have to prove you to you or anybody else.
