Unfortunately, those who answered before me don't understand what a Tippler is. That it's one of the top athletes in the bird world flying up to 24 hours straight. You're in a fun hobby with great birds.
One of my friends actually held the N. American record for a while.
BTW - over the years, I've kept Oriental Rollers, Racing Homers, Spanish Thief Pouters, and Norwich Croppers.
My favorites have always been the race birds and Oriental Rollers.

Dont listen to those idiots they have no respect for pigeons what so ever, pigeons are beautiful birds NOT rats with wings.
They have been on this earth before humanes 20 million years to be excact!
They have also saved many life's during the wars.
I own 4 pigeons right now and 2 doves.
2 rollers.
1 russian tumbler.
1 fantail/roller.
2 morning doves.

We've rescued three feral pigeons and have one baby (grown up already!) that was raised by two of the ferals. They aren't racers, not fancy, nothing all that special but we love each of them!

I was talking with my husband the other day, and we are looking into maybe getting a few homing pigeons.
Wheni was a little girl ,my dad always had them, it was my job to feed them.
I thought i could share that with our little girls, they would love it.
I love birds, they seem to fill a special spot in my life.
