In fairness, most believers have given thought to their position. They like to talk a lot about faith, but the reality is they believe because they find the evidence compelling. Just ask them why they believe. Not 1 in a 100 will say "because I hope it's true". They will ramble of a list of evidences and philosophical musings instead.

? i agree if your saying that the religious people just believe and dont think for themseleves (at least the majority of them)
(and i say this because a majority of the religious folk i have talked to dont know their bible well enough to refute what i say. nor do they even acknowledge what i say is in the bible. ive even given books and verses of the bible, wrote them out, cited where i got it from and i still had people tell me they arent really in the bible.
