Yes, a parakeet is a tropical bird and it is getting COLD outside. It will die! He is domesticated so without a flock of birds in his own environment he won't know what to do or where to go. He also will not know how to hunt for food. Advertise that you are fiving the bird away for free in your local newspaper, on signs for your library or even on Pet store windows, I am sure that you will find some takers. You can even offer it to a class in a school (kindergarten or lower grades) or put a sign up in your school, you can even offer it to a zoo. BUT PLEASE DON'T ABANDON THE BIRD. IT WILL NOT SURVIVE!

Your parakeet will most likely die because it has been captive for the rest of its life. It will not know how to defend, feed, and what do for the winter. If you like to do the humane thing i suggest you put an add in the newspaper or find a way to market it. Eventually someone will buy it. Plus, you will then get a little extra cash in your wallet. Also, back the the winter thing, how would you like to be pushed to live somewhere you don't know what do or how to get around. And then to make it better, you begin to freeze to dealth. If you don't enjoy being cruel to animals, and your boyfriend doesn't care what so ever, re think him not the bird.

Yes it will. If you no longer want him then find some bird rescue organization in your area to take him. You could try offering him for free to someone who might be looking for a bird by placing an add in a local paper or on a forum that is visited by bird owners.

yes, parakeets are from Australia and like warm weather. You bird will die from cold and hunger. If you don't want the bird find a bird rescue place or call you ASPCA and see if they will take it.

Yes, parakeets are tropical birds, and will die from the cold weather, if not from starvation or predation first. If you don't want him anymore, give him to someone who will take care of him.

=)

Yes, but then we all die eventually don't we. Parakeets cannot endure cold weather, as they are tropical birds.

just bring it to a humane society. it's free, easy and will ensure that your bird will not freeze to death.
please do not offer it for free in the newspaper. some weird people who do sick things to animals often respond to those.
either drop it off at a humane society or look for a good home yourself, but DO NOT under any circumstances let it outside please.
good luck :)

You don't just set off a pet into the wild. It's like abandoning your dog on the street. Your pet is not going to survive if you say " fly birdie, fly" It's just not gonna happen. I advise if you want to riddance your pet, then sell it to a new owner.
