People say that God isn't real because we can't see him, but we can't see the wind either and no one disputes it's real, think about it we see the effects of the wind not the wind itself, just like we can see the effects of God. I don't mean to offend anyone by this it's just so many people seem so pasionate that there isn't a God, but if I thought there wasn't a God I just wouldn't care. Why are people so passionately against at the thought that there is a God?

Yes, it is one of the reason why people don't believe in God. They have to see it to believe it. Another reason is prayers that they say are not answered. People don't believe in God because of the diseases, wars and the Bible. They hate God,the bible and those who follow religion. They believe that a supreme being couldn't of created this universe in 6 days. They believe that they can live morally without God's guidelines. They say that religion is to control the masses and has infringed upon their non-religious freedom. They are still without excuse. The bible, creation and religion doesn't make you believe in God but an open mind and heart leads someone to God which forms a beautiful relationship and spiritual experience.

I could type a thousand word essay to answer this question, but will put the answer in very simple terms. It is because of a lack of FAITH in the LORD. If you cannot see it or touch it, it's not real to some people. The sad part of the whole thing is the so-called preachers, ministers, leaders, of whatever they like to be called now-a days do not know the Word of God enough to lead someone. Everyboby has to go to some huge church with a 1000 members, and there would not be 50 Christians in the whole place. Too much status symbols to fulfill and not enough Spiritual Common Sense to understand the Word of God, or what HE evens expects of us. It is NOT HARD to serve the Lord, it is also not a burden. Want to see some ones Morals, look at what makes them laugh? I know the Spiritual Ignorant will not understand what I have wrote, but maybe some of it will get through, I hope so. Yes I beleive in God with all my heart, and it is approaching the mid-night hour my friends. Listen closely, and you can hear the footsteps of CHRIST in heaven preparing for the Father to tell Him it is time, delay will be no more. "Even come Lord Jesus" Amen

i wouldn't say that the main reason people don't believe in God is because we "can't see him". This is definitely a reason, but have you read the bible? The bible was written by a bunch of guys that pretty much wrote what they thought was right. I'm not saying that Jesus Christ didn't walk the earth - there is historical evidence that he did, in fact, walk this earth. But how do you know that YOUR god is real. Why not Buddha or Allah? We can already see that the bible had been manipulated and parts of were left out, so whats to say really happened? And if everything in the bible is true, then we worship a very hateful god. One the is supposed to forgive people of their sins, but punishes the innocent for the sake of someone else. I can't recall his name, but there is a story about a man that worshiped God with everything he had, but God tried the man - killed his whole family, animals, etc. - and when the man still praised him, he gave him another family, more animals, riches, etc. But how do you replace your loved one? I could go on and on...

*chuckle* No, that certainly is NOT the main reason. That's not a reason at all.

Please try to comprehend this line of logic:

(1) There are three attributes of existants which concern us particularly, these being:
-A- Primary Attributes
-B- Secondary Attributes
-C- Relational Attributes.
(2) B as well as C are dependent upon and must be related to an existant’s A in order to be considered meaningful.
(3) The term “God” lacks a positively identified A.
(4) Because of this, the term “God” holds no justified A, B, or C. (From 2)
(5) However, an attribute-less term (a term lacking A, B, and C) is meaningless.
(6) Therefore, the term “God” is meaningless. (From 3, 4, 5)
(6) Therefore, the god-concept is invalid.

People look at the world and the events and think, if there was a GOD why would he/she let things happen like this? Where you see the presence of GOD, others see an event, a chance happening. Because you believe in GOD, you have the perspective of a "GOD looker". Its not important what others believe, what you hold to be true makes you who you are. Reasonable people can differ in their opinions and that's OK. No one is obligated to think what you think. Do not judge others, follow your beliefs and be true to yourself.

It's precisely because I'm dispassionate that I don't believe there's a God. I try to keep passion out of it and wait for some data on the issue. Still waiting...

Don't mistake atheists for being "Anti-God". Most of us would be happy for some proof of his existence. We just choose not to assume he does without something more than stories from a old book to go on.

Yes but you can feel the wind around you,but there's nothing to confirm theres a god other than the bible, which is just stories. Nothing to see or feel. I think if there was something we all would have known by now because he wouldn't just keep us all quessing. He would have revealed himself in one way or another to all of us.

Are you new here? "I cant see the wind but its real" is the oldest and lamest attempt at proving his existence. I dont beleive because the story doesnt add up. Not cuz I cant see him - because the story is flawed, full of contradictions, and has many many followers that follow it simply because they are told to, when they havent a clue what it is they are beleiveing in.

Go ahead, keep living with your head under that rock....

I never said god don't exist cause I can't see him. I say that I don't believe that god exist cause God and all things about him can not be proved to be true. Therefor I don't believe in god. I am able to think for my self. When I don't know the answer to a question and I want to know, I seek the truth. Instead of saying things like " god created it" or "because he is god" that don't prove anything. That is a response to questions for people who don't have the answers and can't prove that god is real.
Common sense also tells me god is not real. The bible was written by man and is more wrong then right. First it tells you to stone people to death then it says not to kill people. Then you got the pushy Christians who try to convert everyone when doing so they are rude and completely disrespectful. I know I surely don't want to ever be like one of those people nor be a part of something they represent.
I don't see lots of people but I know they exist cause there is proof. It's more about standing up for our rights to choose NOT to believe in your god and not have people like you tell us we are wrong, we are going to hell, we need help, they are going to pray for us, and other things along those lines. Also there are lots of people who don't want one religion to be in schools and in the public. That is what a church is for, keep religion out of places where it don't belong.

I don't believe in God because I find the idea of it absurd. I see what influence religion has over people and it's infuriating. It's all about control. Cults work the same way. I don't see air, but I believe it's there. I don't see gravity, but I believe it's there. Atheists aren't as simple to say "I can't see him, he ain't there."
