Emphasis on "seems to be"... Part of it is the media- when murders happened 30-40 years ago before the Internet &TV, it would be local news, but not national. People in Florida wouldn't hear anything about 6 people getting shot in Mississippi.

When people are that psychotic, you never know what will set them off. So for example the guy in the Amish town (who supposedly wanted revenge for something 20 years ago) may have been planning this, but when he saw news of some other shooting, that set him into action- it was just the straw that broke the camel's back. There's no telling.

Fortunately, these guys eliminated themselves so we don't have to worry about them in the future, or waste government time & money with trials/appeals. I know that's of very little comfort to the families of these children or the school principal. I wouldn't wish what they are going through on anyone.

I personally don't buy the "they were neglected/abused as children and never had counseling" line. Having unpleasant experiences isn't an excuse. The same is true for hundreds of millions of people. We're still responsible for the choices we make, whether we had the happiest childhoods or not, whether we come from poor, middle-class or rich backgrounds.

It seems to be some seriously ill people.

But what I don't understand is how they are getting into the schools unnoticed in the first place? Besides the PA shooting, aren't schools supposed to have surveillance systems installed? Are they just for show or is someone supposed to monitor them?

I think this is a wake up call for North America. We need someone protecting our kids while they are away from us.
No, I don't mean armed guards, or metal detectors. I don't think it would be unrealistic to have a couple cops in the schools though. To watch the monitors, and walk the floors a couple times a day.
As well, all doors to the school should be locked, except the main ones.

My kid just started kindergarten, and I'm definitely fearful of something crazy happening out of the blue. Parents have got to step up here, and demand better security for their kids.

the problem is we as a society are allowing these sycopaths to linger on in our neighborhoods! we continue to feed their idiotic behavior with uncensored entertainment in the name of free speech! This is a perfect example of how things like "internet porn' and the like DO hurt innocent people! Sure these things will happen as long as people exsist, but the frequency (pattern) would not be at the level they are if it were not for the fuel that is generated by the billions every day! Take a look outside-we are inondated with insanity!

Yes, there is a pattern. It occurs when the Republicans are getting bad pblicity

The pedophile problem of Foley was beginning to get too much news coverage. Had it continued, there was a possibility of the whole Franklin cover-up rearing its ugly head again, and revealing that most of the senior politicians are pedophiles, as a result of their initiation into the New World Order through organisations like the Skull and Bones.
So there was a need for something else to hit the headlines.
Therefore an MK-ULTRA mind-control victim, like the one who shot John Lennon, was wheeled out, did his job, and was disposed of so that no questions could be asked.
So the main cause is the CIA, the same people who created and performed 9/11.

Sure it´s a pattern. Violent act generates another violent act. If what people see is war, invasions, etc. Do you think it's easy to take the violence off of their minds? In one way or another it's always there. Unfortunately.

They were neglected, abused, and/or mistreated when they were children. They never received counseling for their feelings and they were never taught how to deal with their anger/hurt feelings.

In the US these people can get a gun and shoot people. In the civilised world they cannot get a gun, therefore cannot shoot people.
