1st of all, never take more than the prescribed dose. There can be serious ramifications of self dosing, because you may not know all of the systems that particular drug can have effects on.
2nd: if you are taking a pain medication for chronic pain issues, you may develop a tolerance to the pain med. which is different from addiction. Tolerance is the body's natural response to taking a narcotic over a long period of time, which may require larger doses to control the pain. Addiction is taking a medication without regard to consequences or taking a medication for the "high." If this (tolerance) has happened you need to consult your physician for proper dosage adjustments.
Either way, please consult a physician for further evaluation and advice. Self-dosing medications is a very serious and should not be taken lightly. Please be honest when you see your physician, so that he/she can properly assess you.

Amphetamines are serious drugs. They can have serious effects on your heart. Please seek the immediate advice of a physician for proper assessment. I lost my love due to amphetamines. It caused a heart attack at the age of 27 and they were unable to resuscitate him. Please be careful and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

If you have a built up tolerance already because you have been taking these it doesn't necessary mean you couldn't function with your daily normal life. The best thing to do is try to lay off or see a doctor because even though you don't die this drug and the symptoms could be affecting or damaging your organs without you knowing. Get it checked before it is too late and you have no other alternatives.

Sometimes people get used to high doses of meds that can cause harm to their organs, but they do not 'drop dead' of an overdose.

You can have 'invisible' harm being done to your body, your liver for example.

If you are having symptoms of acute overdose, it's important that you call your doctor and be honest. Lots of people get hook on prescription drugs... and die from it.... all the time.

You didn't mention the drug, so there is no way to tell what you are doing and what harm may be irreversable.

Please don't waste time here, please call your doctor ASAP

Well, if you keep it up, im sure you would die.
My brother in law was basically over dosing everyday and it took about 3 months but he did die from it.
I would get some help before it's to late.
