I had a bad experience while getting my hair trimmed, the lady cutting my hair didnt listen to what I wanted and by the time she started cutting it was too late. My hair use to be well below my shoulders, now it is right at my chin, and I hate it. Any suggestions on how to get my hair to grow healthy and strong would be much appreciated.

Vitamins!!! Lots of Vitamins!!! Prenatal vitamins can actually do really well, bc they are packed with everything your body needs anyway. Or go for a One-A-Day vitamin.
You can get extensions, but they can be quite expensive and lots of upkeep.
My suggestion, find a stylist, a good one (ask friends, or a stranger on the street if you like their hair) and get a nice style going for your new too short hair. Youve got to have somthing you can enjoy while you are undergoing the task of growing back out.
Good Luck

The rate that your hair grows is determined by genetics, but with the crap diet that most of us eat, our bodies are not at peak operating efficiency - so taking a multi vitamin - especially one that contains Biotin and silica will help your hair and nails grow at maximum efficiency - though you need to take them every day for at least two months to see the effect.

On average most people's hair grows 1/2 an inch per month

For strong hair :
Avoid anything with heat - straighteners, hair dryers etc.
Use a mositurising conditioner - one that doesn't contain silicon which can seal moisture out of your hair.
Cut down on the number of times a week that you wash your hair.
Don't brush or comb your hair when it's wet. Use a good wide tooth comb when it's dry.
Avoid dying your hair - especially lightening it.
Avoid perming it too.
Trim any split ends that you see - trimming tht individual hairs is called dusting, and can stops the split from travelling up the hair, and prevents tangles which can lead to breakage.
Avoid using hair ties with the metal joiner.

Mane 'n Tale shampoo and conditioner, first only used for animals(Horses) and now people as well, But although it helps hair grow faster and stronger,it's not miracle grow and will take a little time for you to see the change. P.S It's cheaper at the pet store then any where else I've been too.

I'm sorry about your bad experience. Thank goodness hair usually grows pretty fast. Are you taking any vitamins? Vitamin B is a good one. A shampoo with protein in it helps strengthen the hair. Mane and Tail only swells the shaft to make it appear more full. (so I've been told.)
Good luck, and be patient...it'll grow back.

You need to have your hair steam at least two times a month, also a lot of organic hair treatment.

Wow! Sorry that happened! Some beauticians really stink. I've had beauticians tell me I shouldn't do this or that and it really makes me angry. I have curly hair and I know what I want and don't want. Don't go back to that person.
