Don't know about Karma but the bible says in matthew 7:2 "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

No. Life is inherantly unfair.

Besides, if karma is true, then good and evil are a zero-sum game, and humanity has no hope of good ever outweighing the evil. Now, I'm a philosophical nihilist (don't believe in a deity, free will, etc...) but I still like to try to have SOME hope that despite all that, the human race is growing up and not just trying to break even..

I'm christian, but I generally do agree with the concept of Karma (what goes around comes around). I think everyone gets their come-uppins for good and/or bad in this life and the next.

My husband and I frequently say "it's good karma" when we let others in a lane, or other simple acts of kindness, in the hope that someone will do the same for us someday.

ABSOLUTELY!!! Karma is a powerful thing!!! I have seen my life have very intense things happen and can only blame my past for going through certain situations. My ex moved away and abandoned me and my older son. I called and called when my grandpa passed away and he would pick the phone up and hang up before he even knew it was me. My grandpa died of liver, spleen, and pancriatic cancer. Now, my ex has some weird liver disease and they are unsure of treatment and how long he will live. If that's not karma kicking his *** then I don't know what is!!

I probably don't believe in it in reference to reincarnation, but I do believe that every action we engage in, we also observe. And we incorporate these self-observations into our self-image and our internalized sense of whether we are causing or reducing suffering in the world.

This may be either subtle or blatant, but the accumulated effect spreads throughout our lives and impacts the way we are perceived by others and by ourselves. It effects the persona we project and therefore the response we receive from others. So if we increase suffering for others, we will karmically elicit proportional negativity toward ourselves from within and from others.

I don't believe karma has any impact on wealth, health, social status, or material success. Instead, it effects only our sense of peace and happiness. I recognize this is a mythic description, but I use it as a way to keep in mind the effects of my actions on myself, my family & friends, and consequently my universe.

No. There are plenty of people who lie and cheat to get to the top of society, but nothing bad ever happens to them. Also, lots of people that live in the world live in poverty, and eventually die of hunger without ever getting anything good from karma.

It seems to be a general rule in life that what goes around comes around-he who lives by the sword will die by the sword. That combined with my belief in Buddhist philosophy underpins my belief in karma.
