she likes you no doubt. but how is she hitting you? full flown fists or pokes and shin kicks. if it's the first one she probably just wants to take out her anger on you. if the latter, then she most probably likes you

Her friends should know! Believe them. And besides, it could well be true, there are some poeple out there who don't know how to show feelings except by being "playful", even to the point of a bit rough!

Body language and eye contact.
Eye contact is a difficult one because if she is shy she will tend to look away. If she looks at you right square in the eye she fancies you, if she looks away as soon as you look her in the eye and looks embarrased she fancies you but is shy.
If you are sitting together and she mirrors your body language she fancies you. If she turns her ody slighlty towards you or crosses her legs towards you, this means she fancies you too.

she probably doesn't know how to tell you that she is interested. or she is just being friends. talk to her... if she likes you, there you go. if she just wants to be friends, then you can find someone else
