Do you ever let the bashing bother you personally, or do you just play along??
It doesn't bother me in the least. I'm not threatened by faceless internet people who don't seem to know any better.
How does it affect you?

It used to bother me. I knew a particularly vile boy a few years ago who used to mercilessly berate me for being an "evil godless heathen". No matter what I told him, no matter how often I explained... he still kept spitting fire and brimstone. I think I learned from him to toughen up and be content with knowing who I am no matter what people say about me.
Now I take it in stride... sometimes it's so inane that I have to laugh at it. Other times it truly makes me sad... not offended sad, just... slightly dissapointed in humanity sad.

Thankfully, I am at an age now where I am confident in my place and purpose on this rotating ball we call the earth. Occasionally, the bashers get annoying.....but I consider that everyone has the freedom of speech. I can choose to agree or disagree. Faceless people on the net are sometimes braver incognito than if you would meet them in person. Yet sometimes I feel alittle braver in my answers as well and can express myself written better than in speaking. And then again sometimes it's amusing to me to respond to the bashers. The more annoying their questions the more I try to come up with quirky answers. Might as well have a bit of fun, you cannot change their minds.

I have had some very dirty jobs... the effects would stay with me and I would have to scrub hard to get them off me... I feel the same way after visiting YA for any time... I need to cancel out the negatives with visits to much more happy areas... While I am not threatened Spiritualy... I have been very strongly threatened by others who "visit" here... I have been condemed to death by some... but that is the price of my Faith... I keep my email open because there have been so many kind words and encouragment from others who visit here... and I have recieved thanks from some saying I have been of some help to them... I hope so... I can only do what I can and say what I know to be The Truth.

Just because you can not see their faces, it doesn't follow that they are faceless. Every hamburger you eat was once a young calf. Every name in the phone book has a person there who lives next door to someone else. Every word typed here has the potential for reaching thousands of others, and you nor I have any way of knowing how those words will be read.
I try to choose my words gingerly, although I slip at times. Sometimes the bait is just so enticing, I forget a hook is attached.

I love it, thrive on it, etc.... I am a mother of two, a wife, a working mom, blah blah blah blah blah...... I dont get "me" time, dont get to share my faith like i want to, all that. People who bash others think they know you but they dont. And the fact is, none of us know more than our profile or asked/answered questions have stated about what we believe. They assume you dont have any education, that you are dumb and dont know anything. That is discouraging, mostly because when you try to ask a question to spark intellectual input, it often turns into a "I'm smarter, better looking, and YOURE JUST DUMB" contest. Owell, people are people, and I guess it will always have to be that way... take the good with the bad...

On occasion I feel frustrated - other times a concept sends me off on a tangent researching information for a few hours. Most often though I feel that people on here are like children, huddled around their prized possesion (their holyness) and touting their superiority over those who are less holy. To which I simply feel that God works through the most unlikely people and therefore one should keep their eyes and ears open and refrain from denouncing the Holyness of others.

There is alot of pain and immaturity in the world, Spooky. I assume that people are answering to the best of their current ability, as I do. I laugh when I find it funny; my heart is heavy when it's sad, and when some poor soul seems to be genuinely looking for help, I pray s/he finds it.
Ranting doen't bother me...I'm a christain; I'm used to it! (;p)
Hoping the best for you ...

They bashed the Lord and I have been bashed as His follower even before the Internet. You get used to the abuse. Jesus prayed, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." I pray, "Father forgive them... They haven't got a clue."

Bashing my beliefs is one thing but bashing me personally(name calling, etc.) Just because I dont believe what someone else believes irritates the hell out of me. Im not threatend by them its just the judgments passd on here by people that only know you by your avatar are just ignorant people.
