Vitamin C plays an essential role in the immune system. It is found in every cell of our body and performs various functions:

It aids in fighting off foreign invaders.
It is vital to the production of collagen, which is involved in the building and health of cartilage, joints, skin, and blood vessels.
It helps protect the fat-soluble vitamins A and E as well as fatty acids from oxidation.
It aids in neutralizing pollutants.
It is needed for antibody production.
It has natural antihistamine properties.

All I can tell you is to try it! At the onset of a cold start chewing chewable vitamin C and drink a lot of 100% orange juice and see what happens. What's great is it can shorten the cold, lessen the cold, or even stop it from coming all together! And you can't overdose! I have always kept a bottle of chewable vitamin C stocked in my house and when the kids start getting the sniffles they eat it like candy. They also have vitamin C lozenges that taste great and my kids will actually eat them and beg for more. I can only assume that vitimin C helps the immune system in some way. Give it a try!!!

Vitamin C boosts our immune system. The more of it you take (either by pill, or my favorite, orange juice) the more protected you'd be against colds or viruses.
