is it really that hard to use the proper grammar while asking a question? Are these people just taht stupid and have a sixth grade education that you can't put a sentence together using proper grammar? It is pathetic, but then again America is a pretty bad educated country compared to others

I agree with that. I hate trying to decipher a question because of spelling, grammar, etc. I am not perfect and do make mistakes, but some just don't seem to care at all. When I write something for many others to read, I do it correctly.

However, I don't agree with America being an uneducated country. We are much better off than many other places. It all boils down to people. How bad does one want to learn to read, write, etc..

I would guess that it has to do with the culture of the instant message. I too find it incredibly annoying that people are unable to identify/use proper subject-verb agreement. If you look at the cell phone companies advertisements you will notice that a lot of them use those "cute" little acronyms for things which, in turn, gives people a desire to make other short-cuts, i.e. relying on spell check and not giving a damn about grammar.

No, it sometimes takes too much time to spell things properly for most people, and I do it too! Why is it so hard for people to just ignore grammar and just answer the question?

May I suggest, before you get on an imperial soap box about other's grammar, that you make absolutely certain your grammar and spelling are flawless?

I believe that some people that ask questions on here are not native english speakers. They may have trouble with the english language.
